Brain Pre-Registration

Thank you for your interest in registering to become a brain donor. At this time, the brain banks of the National Institutes of Health are not able to accept brains from outside of the U.S. This is mainly because it is not possible to transport the tissue quickly enough to make sure it’s stored properly at a brain bank within 24 hours. We are very pleased, however, to report that the NeuroBioBank sends a significant amount of tissue samples to researchers who need them around the world.

You may want to consider conducting an online search for brain donation programs in your home country or region.

Unless your parent/guardian is able to complete the form on your behalf, best wait until you reach that age. It’s never too soon, however, to talk with your family about this way to contribute to science in the future.
